Friday's food for thought. Came across this in one of my favourite newsletters¹, thought you might like it. Excerpt from Sylvia Plath's 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘑𝘢𝘳²:"I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree in the story. From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked. One fig was a husband and a happy home and children, and another fig was a famous poet and another fig was a brilliant professor, and another fig was Ee Gee, the amazing editor, and another fig was Europe and Africa and South America, and another fig was Constantin and Socrates and Attila and a pack of other lovers with queer names and offbeat professions, and another fig was an Olympic lady crew champion, and beyond and above these figs were many more figs I couldn't quite make out. I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet."²Similar to how you can approach deciding what to build - 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗹𝗹.Focus is key. ---𝘉𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘺:1.Clear J. 3-2-1: On being yourself, how to say no, and using boredom as a filter [Newsletter]. It's time to do justice to an element, I won't hide it, I've never truly loved. Every time I had to start designing one, I would think: what do I put in here? The client doesn't have much to showcase, what do we invent? And so on. I'm talking, of course, about the footer. Yes, the footer. In reality, regardless of the context it's in, it's a very powerful tool. According to an article by HUEMOR®, a well-designed footer can lead to an increase in conversions that can go beyond 23% and revenue by over 15%. You can read the article here: https://lnkd.in/dgdZEtPi.Certainly, the numbers can vary depending on the market and other several stuff, but the data obtained is clear. I also recommend reading this article written by Nielsen & Norman, it's not peanuts! https://lnkd.in/d-5VHXrqThat said, I wanted to share this very interesting website with you: https://www.footer.design/. It's a collection dedicated exclusively to footer design.Happy browsing.--------Seeking guidance and mentorship? So, everything I've been sharing in my 'BehindtheSeams' series essentially follows the sequence of the entire design process we generally adhere to.Each blog post delves into a specific step in detail or relates it to my real-life experiences.🤹🏻♀️ We've discussed design, encountered problems, explored ideas, and found inspiration. In this blog, I'll provide an overview of the design process. Then, in next Saturday's post, I'll take you through each step of the design process, adding a personal touch.🤝Drawing from the definition of design that I shared in a previous blog – 'design is the creative solution to new and existing problems' – the design process can be seen as the step-by-step guide to reaching that creative solution. It serves as the pathway from identifying the problem to arriving at the solution. So, be ready for the next blogs where so many interesting things are waiting to be discovered. Stay tuned for more!Happy Reading 🌻#BehindTheSeamsSaturday #PriyaWrites

Why you shouldn't focus on a niche (at least in the long-term game) 🧵People advise focusing on a specific niche to avoid spreading too broad.Indeed, having a YouTube channel that covers both golf and Webflow would lack coherence. What is often overlooked is that a niche is a temporary focus.Initially, it's beneficial, but it should not be your long-term strategy. You must transition from:- Espinosa Webflow ExpertTo- Jordi EspinosaMove from a specialized profile to the personal brand of Jordi Espinosa.People evolve, their interests evolve, and their goals shift over time.Initially, I was drawn to photography and design, despite their differing niches. However, as time passes, my preferences change, leading me to explore and enjoy new things. The niche helps you so that when you're starting, you don't go off on tangents, wanting to do everything and ending up doing nothing. It serves as a foundational tool.If you liked this, there's a lot more in my Newsletter. When I started learning design and CRO, my mentor told me "Treat them as real humans because they are!"and since then I have looked at design in a completely different manner.these 2 things I focus on most: → How a HUMAN will react on the landing page→ How he will navigate the page...to be honest, I don't even focus on aesthetics when I sit to design a pageI focus more on the structure of the page...I rather think about: → Which can be the best place to put reviews → Which can be the best place to put a comparison table→ Which can be the best place to put CTA→ Which can be the best place to put Ingredients→ etc. You got the point, right?this thinking helps me a lot in making good decisionswhile running tests and designing pages ----------Do like and share if found value in this :)
