Andrew Ross Sorkin is an American media personality serving as a co-anchor of “Squawk Box”, CNBC’s signature morning program. He is also a financial columnist for The New York Times and the editor-at-large of DealBook, a news site he founded that is published by The Times. He has also appeared on NBC’s Today show, as well as on PBS, and ABC’s Good Morning America.

Sorkin and Joan Ross Sorkin, a playwright and librettist whose credits include “(mis)Understanding Mammy: The Hattie McDaniel Story,” which played at Theater Five in New York this year, and an operatic version of “Strange Fruit” that had its premiere at Memorial Hall at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. His father is an Adjunct Professor of Law and a retired partner in the New York law firm of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP, where he headed the firm’s antitrust and trade regulation group and practiced for more than 45 years. He teaches at Fordham Law School and at the University of Amsterdam Law School and currently serves on the Section’s International Cartel Task Force. He is a member of the advisory board of the Fordham Competition Law Institute and also serves on the advisory board of the Institute for Consumer Antitrust Studies at Loyola University (Chicago)Law School. He graduated from Brown University in 1964 and Yale Law School in 1967 and received an LLM in 1968 from the London School of Economics and Political Science. In 1968-69 he was a law clerk to Judge J. Joseph Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
